to Your Table
The Corn 4 College trio has begun a new venture into raising beef! This project will be another opportunity for Tyler, Jackson, and Alice to continue developing good character and work habits while at the same time raising money for their future college expenses such as books. The children are helping with the care of the cattle. One of their specific jobs is assuring that the cattle receive grain to eat each day. Cattle that are grain-fed in addition to being grass-fed produce a beautifully marbled beef that in our opinion has a better taste.
The beef will likely be ready in September 2018 but because we are keeping this venture on a small scale, the supply will be limited. We are currently only offering freezer orders, available in whole, half, or quarter orders. The price has yet to be determined because the market varies, but be sure to call us if you’d like to learn more.
We use Fisher Meats in Portland to process the beef. If you would prefer another butcher, we can work with you to try to make that happen. You, the buyer, will tell the processor what cuts of beef you want from your purchased portion. The meat will be prepared according to your preferences – hamburgers, steaks, roasts, etc. Once the meat is cut and wrapped, you will be notified that your order is ready.
